After a lot of brain storming sessions with my inner self as to what should be the First blog that I should write on , I found this topic to be very apt for laying the foundation stone of my blog ! Hypocrisy would forever be an integral part of human psyche and to what extent would it play a role in determining the character of a person would indeed be intriguing to know. Nonetheless, moving ahead, I would be expressing my thoughts on a particular topic on a regular basis…Happy reading !
Hypocrisy is something I don’t speak highly of. In fact, it’s a trait I loathe in people around me. After all, who appreciates pretence, dissimulation and deceit. Yes, these are words that correctly define the concept. Unfortunately, there’s no dearth of hypocrisy in our society. And no matter, how much you despise it, it shall ultimately reach you in some way or the other, to test your patience.
I personally feel that the Indian political parties are an exemplary case of hypocrisy. Before entering the political scene, they wear a mask of pretence only to take them off after occupying a firm position or rising to power. Not just this, at the onset of elections, they pledge to stick by their vows, proudly boasting their ideologies only to disappoint the crowd by fake promises. To this, I have only one response- “why do you preach something you cannot stick to?”
Sadly, hypocrisy has nowadays penetrated friendship, workplace and even into our neighbourhood. I blame people’s oversized ego for the birth of this undesirable duplicity. I have found many of them pinpointing at others for offences, which they have committed umpteen times in life. However, as we all know, it’s very easy to criticize others and blindly accept the same mistakes in ourselves. After all, I am sure nobody wants to hurt one’s self-esteem, a reason big enough to breed hypocrisy.
According to me,the best way to tackle false virtues is by nurturing relationships, being charitable with our loved ones, staying consistent with whatever ideology we are following and by practicing honesty. Well, i look at it this way !
